Hailing from Carrbridge in Strathspey, young singer, musician and songwriter Rachel Sermanni is an enduring and unmissable presence on the Scottish music scene, marking out her own alternative folk territory. Stripped down and acoustic, the better to hear the richness and maturity of her voice, her live show has been honed by hundreds of nights onstage. A sometime support act to Mumford & Sons, Elvis Costello and Rumer, she has released two studio albums, including last year’s ‘Tied to the Moon’, one live album (recorded in the Yukon, only 100 miles south of the Arctic circle) and a handful of EPs. Support comes from the Edinburgh-based folk group Matt Norris and the Moon.
