Mediterraneo, along with the good people at Nothing Ever Happens Here, are bringing Africa, Cuba and Southern Italy crashing into Summerhall for a huge festival edition of their world music concert series. A wild night of live Italian pizzica, Zimbabwean Jit-jive, and Afrobeat tangled with Cuban salsa from The Badwills, Poción de Fe, and Rise Kagona and the Jit-Jive Band.

Three bands, 20 musicians, will take the stage, complete with brass sections, furious tambourines, wild guitars and dance moves from three continents.

Opening the night will be legendary Zimbabwean Jit music founder, and former Bhundu Boys member, Rise Kagona alongside his hugely talented Jit-Jive Band. You can see more about them here

The nights hosts, The Badwills will then be firing up your dancing feet, bringing you the wildest tambourine fueled Pizzica, Tarantella and Tammurriata from the South of Italy. See their facebook and website for more, or in action at a previous Mediterraneo show here.

Topping off the night are the mighty seven piece Afrobeat, Caribbean and Cuban rhythm aficionados Poción de Fe, see their facebook for more, or see them in action on STV here.
