Award-winning Scottish composer Graeme Stephen presents the world première of his score for the 1927 silent film Metropolis. The movie is a pioneering futuristic classic by German auteur Fritz Lang. The screening features a live soundtrack performed by the composer, innovative string quartet ZAPP 4 and acclaimed drummer Tom Bancroft. Metropolis is Graeme Stephen’s seventh film score. His composition for FW Murnau’s Sunrise won the Innovation Award at the Scottish Jazz Awards.
"Stephen’s far-reaching guitarist-composer’s voice, now vast and scary, now dreamily delicate, now devilishly catchy, that’s making this strain of his output so enthralling"
